Archive a Family
When can you archive a family?
You can only archive a family if the children are associated with more than one family. Such as divorced parents.
How do I know if a child is associated with more than one family?
To tell if a child is associated with more than one family. Click on the child profile from the child menu.
If it immediately shows the family page, then the child is only associated with the one family
If you first get a popup that asks "Which family do you want to view" then the child is associated with more than one family.
Why to archive a family?
You will want to archive a family when the parent/guardians of that family are no longer associated with your child care.
Examples would be divorced parents. If you had both parents bringing the child to your child care. You would have setup 2 families, one for each divorced parent, that shared the children.
If one of the parents stopped bringing the children to your child care on the days they had custody, then you no longer need that family active, so you can archive them.
This will leave only the other parents family active in the program.
